Atlantis Beach Baptist College:
College History and Foundations:
The Atlantis Beach Baptist College was founded by members of Baptist Communities Ltd. and will open on 1st February 2017.
Atlantis Beach Baptist Community is an exciting vision for a Baptist Church, Baptist College, Baptist Early Learning Centre and Baptist Aged Care Centre to be established on Breakwater Drive Two Rocks, Western Australia. With the blessing and support of the Baptist Churches of Western Australia and the network of affiliated Baptist Colleges, a group of Christian, like-minded, equipped and inspired people came together with a vision for Baptist Communities – Baptist Church, Baptist Education and Baptist Aged Care, all under the banner of the Baptist Churches of WA. The vision was that God had directed them to impact and serve the growing Perth Northern Coastal communities. We believe the Atlantis Beach Baptist community will bring glory to God and build a legacy for generations to come.
The College is a Christian organisation with an open enrolment policy and is constitutionally known as Atlantis Beach Baptist College Ltd. The College, Church and future Aged Care Centre will be separate organisations that are supportive of each other’s purposes. Our College Board provide Godly and reliable governance. From the time of the initial planting in 2017 of the College in Two Rocks Western Australia, we estimate that our school will flourish to become a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 College of quality in the northern corridor of Perth, providing for the educational needs of up to1500 students.
College Crest:
Our College Crest displays our College name within a shield outline to signify our Motto:
Strength, Faith and Honour.
The crown represents God the King who is central to our identity and who we declare as having ultimate ownership and sovereignty over our College.
The cross represents Jesus Christ who we recognise as our Lord and Saviour.
The wave design represents the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, like the movement of water which also reflects our geography, being a coastal area.
The College motto encompasses our College core values:
Strength in building a sense of determination and optimism when faced with challenges in learning and life.
Faith in God, who we declare as sovereign. Honour to respect the uniqueness of others and value teamwork and foster honesty and integrity.
The College Bible Verse comes from the book of Deuteronomy in the Bible:
“Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way.”
Deuteronomy 8:2
This is the direction for our school vision and culture. We believe that God has directed us to impact and serve the growing Perth Northern Coastal communities.
Our Christian College:
Atlantis Beach Baptist College is a co-educational, independent school with an open enrolment policy. That is, students do not need to be of any particular religious affiliation or currently attending a church in order to be enrolled at Atlantis Beach Baptist College.
All students at the College participate in Christian Education lessons as part of the compulsory curriculum at each year level. Courses cover a wide range of topics and issues. While many courses are Bible based and focus on specific Christian beliefs, a wide range of studies and topics relating to Personal Development, Justice and Ethics are also covered. Whilst opportunities are given to develop a living faith and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, personal faith and belief systems are not judged. Detailed information concerning the Christian Education program at the College will be found in the subject course outlines. We believe it is essential for parents/guardians to give full support to the Christian teaching and worship program of the College.
Through their study of Christian Education, students will be introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ and be encouraged to integrate this knowledge into their personal lives.
Through their participation in the school’s ministry, students will be able to experience the love of Christ in a dynamic way, deepen their spiritual and moral lives and respond to the call of Christ to love their fellow students and the community beyond.
In their involvement in the Christian programs and their fellowship with staff and students they will develop a sense of service, community needs, and to give freely of their time and talent to create a better world. They will become more aware of Social injustices and understand the benefit and complexities of Religion and Christianity in the 21st Century.
Students in Secondary School will enjoy the Linked-In Christian Education Program on a weekly basis. Primary School students will enjoy regular Worship Assemblies.
College Statement of Faith
• We believe the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God – a divine, supernatural, infallible revelation.
• We believe in the Triune God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
• We believe that man, created in the image of God, fell into sin through the sin of the first Adam and in that sense is lost and separated from God. We believe that lost mankind must be born again, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and that salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is empowered to live a godly and victorious life.
• We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. For those that are saved, heaven is a place of eternal blessedness.
• We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
