Collie
Western Australia
Fairview is located in the coal mining town of Collie. Collie is situated in the picturesque Collie River Valley 200 km south of Perth, Western Australia.
Fairview Primary School was originally built in 1959 with facilities being added over time to keep our buildings and facilities current.
We currently have approximately 270 students at Fairview and cater for all students from Kindy (4-year-olds) to Year 6. We also run a very popular Play Cafe for one morning each week (currently Fridays).
We have a full range of specialist facilities to cater for the educational needs of our students, including Art, Science, and Music facilities.
We have been working very hard on making Fairview an attractive and inviting place for all kids and their families. We have extensive play areas, equipment, and a developing nature play area.
We have very strong social/emotional programs with the whole school participating in Kidsmatter – developing positive mental wellbeing in all of our students and the Friendly Schools Plus program teaching social skills. We also have a supportive Chaplaincy program to support students and their families.
Keeping our kids safe is very important and we are proactive in promoting this. Each year we run a range of programs including Protective Behaviours and various Cyber Safety programs. We also work very closely helping to support children and families through linking with agencies such as the Collie Family Centre and the Collie Parent and Children’s Centre.
