Shepherds Park School

Shepherds Park Education and Training Unit is within the Riverina Juvenile Justice Centre located at Wagga Wagga in southern NSW. The school [operational since 1985] provides innovative youth programs that enhance the education and learning potential of the students and improves their coping skills while providing them with other skills that will improve their vocational potential. The majority of students are of secondary age, many having severe educational and emotional deficits. The diversified programs offered aim to provide positive learning outcomes. Unit staff and RJJC staff work closey to provide individually tailored programs to address literacy, numeracy and vocational needs of the 24 male students. Credentialing is an important focus for unit staff.
