Royal North Shore Hospital School

Royal North Shore Hospital School is a Kindergarten to Year 12 school providing educational services for all students admitted to Royal North Shore Hospital.
Students may be hospitalised due to illness, accident or trauma, for medical procedures, or for emotional or behavioral reasons.
The central purpose of the school is to provide an engaging, stimulating and supportive environment, assisting students to maintain educational continuity and to experience a smooth transition back to their home school. For students who are hospitalised for extended periods, a planned and supported transition program if offered. Liaison with parents and home schools is always a priority.
The school operates as part of a multidisciplinary term which may include parents and other family members, medical staff, therapy teams, a social worker and a recreational therapist.
While the school is situated on the Children’s Ward, it also caters for older students who may be on the Orthopaedic, Neurosurgical, Psychiatric, Burns or Spinal Wards.
