Cook School

Cook School is located in Loftus in the Sutherland Shire. The school was established during 2002 on a temporary site within the boundary of Southern Sydney institute of TAFE Loftus campus. Cook School moved into the new purpose built facility during October 2007 which is adjacent to Loftus TAFE, the Sutherland Shire Hub for Economical Development and Wollongong University Loftus campus. Cook School is a reintegrating program for students in K – 6 with Emotional Disturbances and students 5 – 12 with behavioural difficulties. Students and their families are supported in this program by: Individual Learning Plans to support educational and behavioural needs. Developing the capacity of referring schools to support targeted students with behavioural and emotional difficulties. Working collaboratively with parents, staff from referring schools and community agencies to assist students in developing self awareness, self control and social competencies across all settings (home, school and the community).
