Woniora Road School

Woniora Road School is a New South Wales Government School for specific purposes, located in the Sydney Region. We cater directly for secondary students diagnosed with emotional disorders and mental health issues. The enrolment of a student is based on the appraisal of the student’s individual emotional needs and abilities. We provide a supportive learning environment that promotes success and well-being for all students. The students have a range of individual education plans and specialised programs that address their unique academic, social and emotional needs. We implement a range of effective welfare and health programs that focus on developing social skills and encouraging students to develop a sense of personal worth, responsibility, and independence. We have a strong emphasis on academic achievement and incorporate a mainstream curriculum via the Sydney Distance Education program. We also conduct specialised literacy and numeracy programs for all students. We endeavour to provide each student with an educational pathway leading to an educational certification. We also implement a range of engagement, vocational and life skills programs that improve students’ attendance, community participation and transition to work.
