Once you’ve been trained as a facilitator, we encourage all UN Youth volunteers to undergo Welfare training. Looking after the welfare of participants, both delegates and facilitators, is one of the most important aspects of volunteering with UN Youth Australia. Being Welfare trained is a skill that improves your ability to engage with delegates and facilitators in a healthy manner, and to equip you with the skills to act appropriately in difficult situations. Completing Welfare training allows you to be a Welfare Officer at any UN Youth Australia event, and can only be completed once you’ve finished Facilitator Training.
We will also have some volunteers from regional areas Skyping in to complete their training. If you’re in Brisbane, however, we’d prefer it if you attend the event.
